SPORT SCIENCE
Big league thinkers and players know the physics of their game. What is Sport Science? A creative new way to teach physical science by using sports. Do curve balls really curve? Yes! The spinning of the ball combined with its rough surface causes it to curve. What keeps a Frisbee in the air? The Frisbee is in fact a wing and therefore creates lift. What keeps a bicycle from falling over? Gyroscopic stability (or inertia). The actual spinning of the wheel is what keeps it from falling over.
Sport Science is one of Dynamic's most popular assemblies! The combination of athletics and physical science make this a unique program, with much audience interaction. Concepts addressed include: Sir Isaac Newton's 3 laws of motion, inertia, gravity and action/reaction; their relation to modern-day sports. To schedule this program, please
