A unique program featuring live goats, chickens, doves, geese and more. Up close, interactive hands on format is very exciting. Topics of discussion include:

  • Michigan Agriculture
  • Recycling
  • Organic Farming
  • Livestock
  • Composting

Also featuring animals including (but not limited to):

  • Violet the Dwarf Nigerian Goat
  • KiKi the Silver Appleyard Duck
  • Champ the Modern Game Chicken
  • Toffee the Pygmy Pigeon
  • Peanut Butter and Cinnamon the Silkie Chickens
  • Roy and Sammi the Japanese Phoenix Chickens

All the animals in our program have been born and bred in Michigan. Farming has been the second largest industry in Michigan for many years. Animals and crops are bred and grown for food on a farm, but there are also breeds bred for show and companionship. Other by-products from the Bergman Farm featured are jewelry made from molted feathers, goat milk soap, goat milk, eggs, maple syrup and feedbags that have been recycled into handbags and aprons. Organic farming is discussed as manure from the animals is composted for gardening. Suitable for all ages.
